Louise Fernandes-Owen is the Professional Support Lawyer in the Employment and Pensions Group at Field Fisher Waterhouse.

Louise trained and worked as an employment solicitor in the City, and has broad experience of both contentious and non-contentious employment law issues. She has advised on a wide variety of matters, ranging from employee status, managing sickness absence and the conduct of disciplinary and grievance procedures to whistleblowing and harassment allegations, TUPE transfers, collective redundancies, unfair dismissal and complex discrimination issues.

At Field Fisher Waterhouse, Louise produces a wide variety of client-focused publications on employment law issues, including briefing notes, newsletters and fortnightly email alerters on recent developments. She organises internal and external training, and co-ordinates the Group’s annual seminar and workshop programme. Her role also entails producing guidance and precedent documentation for use within the Group.

Louise has spoken at external HR events and has also written widely for HR and legal publications including Personnel Today, People Management, Employment Law Journal and the Financial Times. She has also co-written and edited a specialist employment law text for the HR and legal market.
